Not the child’s toy, but a fabric yoyo is of the unique ways to make a quilt. The quilt is made by whipstitching completed yoyos together in rows to make up the size quilt you want. The only caution is to use the same sized yoyos. You don’t have to deal with batting and backings so it is really more of a coverlet. But a truly striking way of using up odd shaped snippets of fabric.
I found two videos on how to make yoyos that I think worth sharing. The first uses a Clover YoYo Maker and the other is the more traditional method.
